Easily constructed, an LED Display unit housed in a clear acrylic tube using
Sure-ElectronicsLED modules.
A BoardZero layout will fit perfectly in the tube with the
addition of an integrated IDC connector. The MCU board forms an easily
swappable module that simply 'pops' onto the LED Matrix connector
giving 'quick change' capabilites and 'in the post' reprogramming.
Sound-to-light effects can be swapped in seconds.
The crystal (silver unit) and programming connection (5pin)
are not nescessary so can be discarded if not required.
The crystal can almost triple the clock speed of the normally
8MHz PIC in internally clocked operating mode,
up to 23MHz we have found. The higher the speed the
smoother the scoller display can be
and will improve oscilioscopic sound-to-light effects.
IDC connector is there for easy-hacking, the processor IC
can be removed and reprogrammed separately.

Printed and laminated card inserts cover the working, another graphic design canvas.
Here we have a fading spectrum design.
The 3mm Sure 8x32 LED modules fit a 60mm tube, the 7.6mm LED fit 100mm diameter tubing.
